A Lovely Weekend in Portland, Maine










Breezy, seaside weather. Great company. Really good food. We tried as many eateries as we possible could in America's "Foodiest Small Town". Favorites were omakase at Miyake, dinner with friends at Fore Street, and poutine at Duckfat.

what does poutine taste like? we just talked about how to eat poutine as a vegetarian/vegan.

fries, gravy, and cheese curds-- poutine just tastes good. i'm not sure you would like it if you don't eat meat or animal products. what did you guys decide was the best way to eat poutine as a vegan? i guess you could use soy-based cheese product or tofu curds, vegetable-based gravy, and make sure that the fries aren't fried in lard or any other kind of animal fat... but then it wouldn't taste much like poutine!!
